Updated: Three Hikers Rescued North of Millard Campground

Altadena Search and Rescue assisted three hikers who were stranded on the side of a cliff. No injuries reported.

Early Thursday evening, Altadena Search and Rescue assisted three male hikers who were stranded on the side of a cliff north of Millard Campground. The hikers were led to safety and escorted back to their vehicle. Airlift transport was not required, and no injuries were reported, according to Deputy Manier of the Altadena Sheriff's Station.

I was on the Sunset Trail when this rescue was going on. I think they were stuck on the slippery granite of the Saucer Branch, at least that's where the rescue helicopter spent a lot of time, kicking up clouds of dust that looked like smoke from a distance. The waterfalls there are tempting, but hazardous.

yah , those 3 are camping at millard campground . lucky no injuries , i informed them prior that millard creek , dawn mine etc are closed to hiking etc , but quess they did not listen ,,
