Hiker With Medical Condition Airlifted From Switzer Falls

Hiker taken to Huntington Memorial in unknown condition.

Authorities air lifted a female hiker from the Switzer Falls area after she complained of chest pains.

Authorities from the Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station received the call around 12:15 p.m. A member of the Montrose Search and Rescue team was out hiking on their own when they came in contact with the female hiker who requested medical help, said Sergeant Cynthia Gonzales.

Air Rescue 5 from the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department was dispatched and picked up the hiker around 12:53 p.m. The hiker was reportedly transported to Huntington Memorial Hospital, Gonzales said. Her condition was not immediately known.
