House Fire Causes $80,000 in Damage
A person had to be rescued out of a second floor window in the blaze that broke out on Altadena Drive on Tuesday night.
A woman was rescued out of a second floor window by firefighters Tuesday in a blaze that caused $80,000 in damage, a county fire official said.
The fire broke out shortly before 8 p.m. Tuesday in the 1600 block of East Altadena Drive, according to Los Angeles County Fire Inspector Brian Riley. WHen firefighters arrived on scene they saw a woman trapped in the structure on the second floor.
"Their life was saved," a county fire spokesman said. "We put a ladder to reach her and brought her down to safety."

The fire caused an estimated $8,000 in property damage and $80,000 in damage to the structure, the official said. It was caused by a hot plate that malfunctioned, he said.
