Man Reportedly Attempts Suicide Near Horse Flats

Forestry officials treating the man for his allegedly self-inflicted wounds. Details are still unfolding.

Officials are reporting that a man may have attempted suicide near the Horse Flats Campground area.

According to California High Patrol traffic logs, US Forestry officials state the man had what appeared to be cuts to his wrists and had been armed with a knife at one point.

According to scanner reports, a rescue helicopter was summoned to transport the patient, but he was reportedly too combative with rescue personnel to be flown out. The man is having his wounds tended to by Forestry personnel. Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies are on scene.

This story will continue to be updated as information becomes available.

If the idiot became combative they should have given him a larger, sharper, knife and left him. If someone wants to 'pull the pin', who are we to say they can't?

Well it seems to be, Malcolm, that when we are in a deranged state of mind some think the only way to end it is by committing the ultimate act. For what I've read, there's professionals that have developed the art , after extensive studies on the matter, to talk these kind of individuals into finding a more positive outcome. In any case, those with cooler minds are responsible to help the ones in need as we live in a society. Who knows, this individual may have changed his mind afterwords, he was lucky this time to have a second chance to see life from a different aspect a chance we all deserve, no?
