Montrose Search And Rescue Trains With the 'Hulk'

While they may not be saving people from gamma exposure, the Montrose Search and Rescue team has the Incredible Hulk still on their side.

Sheriff Reserve Deputy Lou Ferrigno trained with members of the Montrose Search and Rescue team Sunday, Nov. 10. Ferrigno was accompanied by team members Tim Berry, Kevin Hughes and Mike Leum, along with high school students Garrett Leum and Boston Carvalho, Sheriff's officials said in a press release.

The team utilized the infamous area of Angeles Crest Highway known as "Motorcycle Corner." Due to the tight angle of the road, it is known for its high volume of motorcycle crashes, authorities said.

The team set up a winch truck, secured the 'Hulk' and the high schoolers in harnesses and lowered them over the side of "Motorcycle Corner."

Ferrigno also provided backup for a United States Forestry Service officer who was performing license checks on 10 armed deer hunters, authorities said.

"The officer was very glad to get some backup. It was especially reassuring once the officer recognized one of the deputies there was Lou Ferrigno," authorities said.
