Residents Report Shots Fired on Casitas Avenue on Monday

Witnesses reported hearing gunfire and seeing a car speed away but no victims or physical evidence was found at the scene.

Altadena residents on Casitas Avenue reported hearing 5-8 shots fired on Monday morning, but no victim was found at the scene, according to Lt. Angela Shepherd of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The incident happened around 10:15 a.m. near the intersection with W. Calaveras Street.

Area residents told detectives they heard the shots and witnesses said a turquoise sedan with blue tape on the back window was driven away at a high speed shortly after the shots were fired.

Nobody reported witnessing somebody doing the shooting and no physical evidence was found at the scene, Shepherd said.

I live at Altadena and Casitas, and I don't call in shots when I hear them. I'd say it's approximately as shooty here as when I lived in Atwater. I didn't call in shots then, either. I'm just grateful that all these idiots seem to be such dreadful shots. I guess they don't spend a lot of time at the range honing their skills.

I heard nothing. I was up and out taking care of baby Mockingbirds in my back yard. Didn't hear any shots.
