Ribs Robbed at Ralph's, Sheriff's Deputies Makes Arrest

A man was arrested for robbery Tuesday afternoon after allegedly taking prepared food from Ralph's.

A man was pulled over and arrested by Sheriff's deputies on Tuesday afternoon after he tried to steal a plate of ribs from the Ralph's on Lake Avenue, according to Lt. Angela Shephard of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The suspect had attempted to leave the store with the prepared food, and when an employee tried to stop him, the suspect shoved the man aside and made a run for it, according to Shephard.  She did not immediately have the name of the suspect.

Somebody at the store got a license plate number as the suspect took off, and police were able to quickly spot him on Mendocino Street, east of Lake.

Shephard added that the deputies proceeded to do a felony stop of the suspect's car, which means they proceed with guns drawn in case the suspect is armed.

Because the suspect shoved an employee while trying to escape with the food, the crime qualifies as a robbery rather than shoplifting, Shephard said.
