A man described by authorities as a known Altadena gang member was behind bars today on suspicion of threatening to shoot his girlfriend and holding her against her will.
Dennis Mayfield, 32, was arrested around 6 p.m. Wednesday in the 800 block of Euclid Avenue in Pasadena, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
He had been considered armed and dangerous because of the alleged threat and the fact that he was known to carry a gun, sheriff's officials said.
He's also suspected of shooting rounds into the air on Sunday morning in the 2000 block of Marengo Avenue, according to the sheriff's department, which reported that two firearms were recovered from Mayfield's vehicle.
Mayfield was booked on suspicion of kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon and other weapons charges, with bail set at $1 million.
The arrest was made by detectives from the sheriff's Altadena Station,
Pasadena Police Department and the FBI.
