Top 5 SGV-Area Stories: Hiker Death, Coolhaus, Citrus College, Maternity Homes, Cat Posse

Here's a recap of some stories that headlined Patch sites this week.

For anyone who may have missed some of this week's Patch stories, here are a few items that topped SGV-area Patch sites:

  • Two people fell about 200 feet at Eaton Canyon. One of the hikers had an unspecified injury and was airlifted to a nearby hospital and the other was dead on arrival, in full cardiac arrest, according to authorities. 
  • Gary Woods has served on the Citrus College Board of Trustees representing Azusa since 1982, but John Fincher, president of the Citrus College Faculty Association, leveled allegations against Woods during Tuesday’s board meeting. 
  • as complaints regarding such facilities have increased sharply in recent months. The Arcadia Police Department will begin the hiring process in April, and the detective is expected to cost the city an estimated $120,000 per year, Assistant City Manager Jason Kruckeberg said. 
  • Late last month, a volunteer for local cat rescue The Cat Posse reached out to Patch to ask for the community’s help to replace funds raised for the nonprofit that were stolen during an alleged residential burglary. Earlier this month, volunteer Renee Walker was happy to report
