Video: Jumping into Monkey Canyon

Like Eaton Canyon, an Angeles National Forest hotspot called Monkey Canyon can become a problem when water-seeking hikers injure themselves. A hiker was injured on Monday. The following video shows the jumping that leads people to injure themselves.

The above video, which is posted on YouTube, shows people enjoying a risky jump into shallow water at Monkey Canyon in the Angeles National Forest.

A 30-year-old man injured himself from doing the same sort of jump illustrated in this video on Monday.  He had to be airlifted to a hospital, sheriff's officials said.

The man suffered a fractured foot, according to Capt. Parker of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
