210 Freeway Project Update

Falsework for the I-210 Gold Line Bridge should be completely up next week.

The Gold Line bridge over the 210 Freeway, which has resulted in recent night-time lane closures, is one step closer to completion.

After Foothill Extension Construction Authority representatives met with Congressional officials and staff last week for an update on the Foothill Extension project, Chief Executive Officer of the project, Habib F. Balian announced that the falsework--the temporary framework that provides structural support--for the I-210 Gold Line Bridge is almost complete.  Skanska predicts the falsework will be fully up early next week.

Balian describes the progress as “a significant milestone for the project that required more than 20 full late-night closures of the eastbound I-210 Freeway over the last two months.”

Once the falsework is finished, crews will move on to building the main cross beam and superstructure.
