All Aboard: The Summer Beach Bus is Rolling

Here's a handy schedule for everything you need to know about the Altadena summer beach bus, which takes riders from the foothills to Santa Monica Beach.

If the pool just isn’t cutting it or if you’re itching to get sand stuck between your toes, you’re in luck. The Altadena Summer Beach Bus returns Tuesday, offering up a cheap ride to Santa Monica Beach three days a week. The transportation is sponsored by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works.

DATES:

  • June 21 to September 5
  • Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The bus will also run on Labor Day.

ROUNDTRIP FARE: (Bus requests exact fare)

  • $3.00 for adults and children
  • $1.50 for senior citizens 60+ with i.d.
  • $1.50 persons with disabilities
  • Exact fare is required.

  • Children under 12 must travel with an adult
  • Seating is first come, first serve
