Altadena Likely to Get $320,000 for Lincoln Avenue Storefronts

The County Board of Supervisors will be voting on Tuesday on whether to grant $320,000 for storefront improvements for Lincoln Avenue businesses.

The work will be done through a private contractor, APCIC, which has promised to use local labor for the project, according to the staff report. The money will come from county economic development funds.

According to the county report, eligible properties will be "reviewed and approved on a site by site basis" before any work is done.  The report does not mention who will do the reviewing.

Lincoln Avenue was part of the West Altadena Project Area Committee, a county redevelopment area that was eligible for economic redevelopment money.  Like others in the state, it was affected by the state's defunding of redevelopment agencies.

Patch has contacted county sources for more information on this contract.  We will update the story with more information as it comes.
