Altadena Town Council: Proposed Home Daycare & Coffee Gallery Permits

Tuesday night's Altadena Town Council meeting includes discussion over a proposed daycare center at an Altadena home, a permit to continue Coffee Gallery's entertainment and more.

The November meeting of the Altadena Town Council will take place Tuesday night, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m. at the Altadena Community Center and include some of the following agenda items:

  • Conditional use permit for a day care center that is being proposed at a home at Canyon Crest and Lincoln. The proposed center has already caused concern among some residents about how it could affect traffic.
  • Coffee Gallery Entertainment Permit: The Land Use Committee reports that there will be a Dec. 5 hearing for continuing to allow entertainment at the Coffee Gallery, as well as specifications regarding parking and operating hours.

Corrections: Diane Marcussen of the Altadena Town Council let Patch know that Walmart's presentation on the agenda was an error and no one from Walmart will be at tonight's meeting. Also, a representative from the Southern California Gas Company will give a presentation next month, not Tuesday night, on a new metering system that will add a wireless communication device to Altadena’s natural gas meters.
