You've probably noticed the various coned-off areas, closed streets and orange construction signs around Altadena streets lately.
That includes a long-standing project on Woodbury Road, which has moved west to east and has reached Los Robles Avenue, as well as various street closures in the vicinity of the Altadena Golf Course.
What are these projects?
The first, on Woodbury Road is a plan to shrink the median and add landscaping while also adding a bike lane. That project is scheduled to be completed sometime in mid-November, according to Michael Kaspar of the County Public Works Department. More information is available here.
The second, which will be on several roads near the intersection of New York Drive and Hill Avenue, involves repaving, curb and gutter repair, and replacement of speed bumps. Work is being done, will be done or already has been done on:
- Atchison, 410 feet west of Mar Vista Avenue to Mar Vista
- Calaveras - Holliston to Hill
- El Corto Drive - Holliston to 255 east of Holliston
- Hill - New York to Calaveras
- Holliston - Mendocino to Altadena
- Lexington - 400 feet west of Michigan to Holliston
- Maiden Lane - Mendocino to Altadena
That project has been estimated to take four months to complete and is scheduled to be finished by late October, according to Kaspar. More information is available here.
We've reached out to the County's Public Works Department for an update on how much longer these projects will take to complete and will update this post with that information if we get it.
Editor's note: This story has been updated with the estimated completion dates of both projects.
