Deadline: Public Letters for Muir Athletic Field Alternative Due April 2

The City of Pasadena is considering putting the soccer field planned for Hahamongna Watershed Park at John Muir High School instead and wants the public's input.

Those wishing to show support for the City of Pasadena’s proposal to eliminate plans for a Hahamongna soccer field and instead have the field at John Muir High School can send letters of support to Pasadena’s public works manager by April 2, the Arroyo Seco Foundation shared.

The Muir field plan would be made possible through a $1 million state grant.

Pasadena officials need to formally propose the Muir plan to state officials, who must approve it for it to go forward, hence Pasadena officials seeking letters of support from the public.

Several Hahamongna preservationists are in favor of the Muir plan, but others, such as Muir Ranch executive director Matthew “Mud” Baron are concerned about the field limiting possible expansion for the student-run garden, according to the Pasadena Sun.

Public letters of support should be received by 5 p.m. April 2 and should be addressed to the following:
