PUSD Board to Discuss Budget Cuts at Tuesday's Meeting

Budget cuts include cuts to staffing at the district offices, custodial services, and more.

At tonight's Pasadena Unified Board Meeting, the board will hear a presentation on up to $11 million in proposed budget cuts for the 2011-12 budget year.

According to district documents, the proposed cuts would include a 15 percent reduction in staffing at central services at the district, cuts to custodial staff, and at the most severe level of cuts, special education and classroom programs.

The proposed cuts are divided into three levels of severity, and are ordered to minimize impact on class size as much as possible.  A full list of proposed cuts can be viewed at right.
