Same-Sex Marriage: Altadena Community Church UCC Shows Support

The Altadena Community Church, United Church of Christ showed support on its facebook page for same-sex couples to wed as the Supreme Court considers the constitutionality of California Proposition 8 Tuesday.

In light of the Supreme Court hearing arguments Tuesday on whether or not California’s Proposition 8—the ban on same-sex marriage—is constitutional, some people are showing support for same-sex marriage by wearing red and changing their facebook profile photo to an equal sign.

Joining the same-sex marriage proponents is Altadena Community Church, United Church of Christ, who took to facebook to show their support.

The church changed their facebook cover photo to a rainbow emblazoned with the phrase, “We stand with thousands of same-sex couples, across the life of the church, affirming their freedom to marry the person they love” and the United Church of Christ logo.
