Seat Open on the Town Council Again

A seat representing the far northwest district in Altadena is open to people interesting in serving on the Town Council

A Town Council seat is open again after a newly seated member who sat with the council for one meeting has decided to leave.

The seat represents census tract 4603.01 in the northwest part of Altadena.  The district runs roughly north of Altadena Drive and west of Fair Oaks Avenue, with its borders the northern foothills and the La Vina development on the north and west side of the district.

Gene Stevenson, a former PUSD board candidate, had been appointed to fill a vacancy that originally opened over the summer, but the Council announced Tuesday that he resigned the seat. 

Requirements for the office include being a registered voter and having two years of residency in Altadena.

Under the Town Council bylaws, when a member leaves the Council, the remaining council members can use an appointment to fill the seat until the next election.

The Town Council is an advisory group to Los Angeles County, and not the elected government of Altadena.  Meetings are held monthly on the third Tuesday of the week at the .
