PLAY WITH WORDS! ROLL SOME ACROSS THE FLOOR WITH BRADLEY-DETALLY

“Writing is simply sitting down and putting one word down after another, then…whaddya know!  After a while, there's interesting stuff to read,” asserts well known Pasadena writing teacher Esther Bradley-DeTally who will be offering two workshops for writers at the main Altadena Library.  The first one, “Play with Words,” on Saturday, January 7 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., will introduce both new and experienced writers to a variety of fun writing prompts and spunky styles. “We’ll be mixing soup,” she declares, with “details, descriptions, dialogue, and modes to create something delicious.”

The second workshop, “Finding Your Voice,” will take place on February 4 from 1:00 to 3:00.  So, writers, get those pens out to mark the dates on your calendar to remind you to start playing!

Esther Bradley-DeTally teaches writing classes at 10,000 Villages and the Women’s Room.  Her book You Carry the Heavy Stuff, garnered her the title “Author on the Rise” by Good Reads. When asked what she would like her legacy to be she answered “to have left the world showing worlds of unity, love and laughter, and to be a point of light in the dark dark nights of the soul, and to laugh and yuk about recipes, ham sandwiches and to promote the oneness of mankind, to write, and know the power of words, the love of them, their ordinariness and majesty.”
