What are Community Schools?

What are Community Schools?
Come find out tomorrow night!  Our Community Meeting will include a presentation on Community Schools byRobyn Stack Reagan from Los Angeles Education Partnership. In addition we will hear from Cameron Levin, a Community Schools consultant, and Jennie Carey, a Community Schools coordinator about their work in the field.

Mercy Santoro, Director of Human Services and Recreation for the City of Pasadena, Ed Honowitz, PUSD School Board Member, Ann Rector, Health Programs Coordinator for PUSD, andFelicia Lee, PUSD parent, will be there to discuss how the school district and city government of Pasadena can work together to help our children, their families, and our community.  Later this year IIPK will be co-sponsoring a day-long symposium on Community Schools. We will bring experts from other cities within and outside of California to describe how the Community Schools approach is working so that we can discover best practices to apply in PUSD. IIPK understands that implementing Community School strategies take creativity, collaboration, cooperation, and commitment. Our organization is committed to this process and we want to enlist a broad spectrum of organizations to partner with us in sponsoring this important event.  We are looking forward to a great meeting tomorrow night. We hope that you will be there to join us and share your much needed valued ideas!
