New Principal Named for Eliot Middle School

Lorena Martinez, a San Diego County elementary school principal, will take over at Altadena's Eliot MIddle School in July.

The Pasadena Unified School District has named Lorena Martinez, a San Diego County elementary school principal, as the next principal of .

Martinez was most recently the principal of Grapevine Elementary School in the Vista Unified School District in San Diego County, according to a PUSD press release.  Prior to that she was an assistant principal at Apollo Middle School in Tucson, Arizona.  The district's release calls her "a lifetime educator."

The release notes that Martinez is fluent in Spanish and English and will start her duties on July 1.  Martinez went through a selection process that included panel interviews with teachers, parents and staff, according to the release.

She is an outstanding Principal and amazing individual...she always does right by kids. The Eliot Community is fortunate to have her.
