Pasadena Rosebud Academy Scores High

The Pasadena Star News profiles an Altadena charter school that scored 890 on the state's Academic Performance Index

The Pasadena Star News has profiled the high-scoring , an Altadena charter school that is now located at the former Loma Alta Elementary campus.

The K-4 school scored 890 on the state's Academic Performance Index (API), well above any of the non-charters in Altadena.

Some of the school's sucess is likely because of its small class size, but Star News reporter Brian Charles notes that the school, which is roughly 80 percent black and 20 percent Latino, is "defying the trend" of the "nationwide achievement gap between black, Latino and white students."
