Pasadena Unified Selects Interim Superintendent

Deputy Superintendent Brian McDonald will step into the role.

Deputy Superintendent Brian McDonald has been selected to serve as interim superintendent until further notice, says the Pasadena Unified School District.

The Pasadena Board of Education voted unanimously to appoint McDonald at a special closed-door meeting Thursday.

McDonald, who worked for the Houston (Texas) Independent School District until he joined Pasadena Unified as Chief Academic Officer in October 2011, will take over for Superintendent John Gundry, who soon will be joining the Santa Clara County Office of Education as superintendent.
