Reminder: Pasadena Unified Open Enrollment Ends Feb. 6

The open enrollment application period for the Pasadena Unified School District 2014-2015 academic year is in progress and will continue through February 6, district officials said in a written statement.

Open enrollment is Pasadena Unified's school of choice program, allowing students to attend schools with unique programs, or a campus outside of the students' attendance boundaries.

All students living within the attendance boundaries are eligible to participate in open enrollment. Students living outside the boundary can have their parents submit an application of interest, district officials said.

All families interested in submitting an open enrollment application can do so at the open enrollment website. [openenrollment.info] Applications can include as many as five schools of choice in order of preference, district officials said.

School placement is by random lottery and is not dependent on when an application was submitted, district officials said.

Notification of school placement will happen by March 1.

The district will provide families with computer and Internet access to complete the application process:

  • PUSD Education Center, Room 240, 351 South Hudson Avenue, Pasadena
  • Tuesday, Jan. 14 from 4:30 p.m. to 7: 30 p.m.
  • Thursday, Feb. 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
