The John Muir High School Football Family Booster Club has created the Brandon Marquise Jackson Memorial Fund to help defray costs for Jackson's family in the wake of that left Jackson dead at the age of 18.
Jackson, a junior at John Muir, was and scored a touchdown in Muir's win over Pasadena in the Turkey Tussle. Jackson was also part of a local youth mentor program, and was working hard to bring up his grade point average with the goal of going to college, according to adults in the mentor porgram.
Anyone interested in contributing to the fund is encouraged to make a donation at any Bank of America branch. Mention the memorial fund by name to the teller to make the donation.
As of Wednesday, police say they are still looking for witnesses to come forward, and are urging people to call the station anonymously if they don't want to meet detectives face to face.
Though there were in Pasadena Sunday night and one man who was wounded that evening, there have not been any reported gun fire since, according to Altadena Sheriff's officials.
