Farnsworth Park Concert Preview: Down Beat Express

The big band Down Beat Express will be playing jazz hits at Saturday's weekly free summer concert at Farnsworth Park.

Robert Klomburg of the Sheriff's Support Group of Altadena has the following information on Down Beat Express, the performers at this Saturday's free Farnsworth Park concert.

The concert starts at 7 p.m. and drinks and food from El Patron are available for sale.

Trumpeter Paul Cacia plays jazz-pop selections from his nine albums recorded over thirty years as a top soloist. Paul Cacia is a true “trumpet artist”. Paul plays “Phaeton” trumpets exclusively.

Recording artist Jennifer Gates sings songs from the Great American Song Book that makes her a perennial Pasadena night club favorite.

Both will be accompied by Altadena’s own Down Beat Express a seventeen piece big band performing their own arrangements of swing era standards and truly “blasts from the past” big band hits. Pat Emmett is the music director.
