Altadena Relay for Life Meeting on Feb. 1

The cancer fundraising and awareness organization is seeking walkers and fundraisers interested in participating in its June event.

The Altadena Relay for Life organization will host an event for potential participants who would like to be walkers or fundraisers for the Altadena version of the nationwide cancer fundraiser.

Relay for Life is an overnight walking event that has teams maintaining a constant walk as part of a fundraiser.  Each team races money and participates in the walk.

The group is still looking for participants and will host a meeting for any interested parties at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 1 at the , according to a group press release.

The 2012 goal for the Altadena Relay for Life is to have 40 teams of walkers who will raise $40,000, according to the release.  In 2011, there were 35 teams that raised just under $35,000.
