This Week in Altadena: Library Hosts ‘3 Latina Poets’

1. Altadena Library, 600 E. Mariposa St., hosts “3 Latina Poets – A Bilingual Event” Thursday, Oct. 17. This event is the second of the ALTA-L.A Poetry Series hosted by Linda Dove, the library’s Poet Laureate. This free series is sponsored by the Friends of the Altadena Library. Open mic readers may perform their poems in either Spanish or English.

2. Odyssey Charter School will host a Fall Marketplace, Saturday, Oct. 19 at 725 W, Altadena Dr. The free event will include vendors selling jewelry, soaps, and other handmade goods. Click here for more details.

3. The Altadena Library will host a Teddy Bear Storytime, 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14 for children 6 years and under. Children are invited to wear their pajamas and bring a toy as they listen to stories.

4. Assemblymember Chris Holden will give a “State of the State’ address at the Altadena Town Council meeting 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Altadena Community Center, 730 E. Altadena Dr. Click here for more details.

5. The Altadena Library’s Fun Friday Flick is The Croods. All screenings are free and start at 3:30 p.m.
