The post office at 281 E. Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena was renamed the "First Lieutenant Oliver Goodall Post Office Building" in honor of an Altadena resident and Tuskegee Airman.
Oliver Goodall's timeless message to friends and family was to always stand up for something. On Saturday morning, dozens stood for him at a ceremony to change the name of Pasadena's Colorado Boulevard post office to honor Goodall, a postal worker who also served as a member of the Tuskegee Airmen, a group of black World War II fighter pilots who fought at a time of non-integrated U.S. armed forces. After a legislative process that took nearly a year, a bill naming a Pasadena post office in honor of an Altadena World War II veteran and postal work has become law. Departed Altadena resident and World War II veteran, Oliver Goodall, will have the postal office at 281 E. Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena named after him: it will be called the “First Lieutenant Oliver Goodall Post Office." Departed Altadena resident and World War II veteran Oliver Goodall came one step closer to having a post office named in his honor this week after legislation mandating the change passed Congress. Goodall, an Altadena postal worker and veteran who served with the famous Tuskegee Airmen in World War II, will have a Pasadena post office location named for him assuming the President signs legislation that was sponsored by local Democratic Rep.
