About Lisa

My name is Lisa Maiorana, Certified Personal Nutritionist.

I have a passion for helping people lose weight but more importantly be healthy!

I luckily was blessed with good genes and never really had a weight problem growing up.  However, I noticed my metabolism gradually starting to slow down once I started to have my children.  My weight was no longer "easy" to maintain at that point.  By the time I had my second child, I was at least 50 lbs overweight and struggling. I still hadn't lost the babyweight from my first child and now I had more weight added on to that after having my son.

I had a horrible self image, poor self esteem and no energy to do even the most simplest of tasks.  My weight was interfering with the quality of my life.  I had to do something about it.

I started a lifestyle change on January 3, 2010 and I never looked back.  I started to exercise and eat healthy and the weight began to come off.  There wasn't any "magic pill" and there certainly wasn't any "diet".  It was just me, my treadmill and re-educating myself about how to eat healthy.

Every day I have people from all walks of life ask me if I can help them lose weight just like I did.  I want to help you succeed on a weightloss journey that will teach you the skills and tools you will need to keep the weight off for life!

There are no guarantees in life but I can tell you from personal experience that the overall quality of my life is much better since losing 50 lbs.  I am the most self assured I have ever been, have the most energy I have ever had (even as a teenager) and most importantly am now living a healthy lifestyle!

Hi Lisa. I am working on a feature film that is helping a great cause as well as offering people the opportunity to get involved with the film. I think this would be a great story to write about and tell people. I just wanted to pass this along. …Or If it’s not too much trouble, pledge on something (they are offering great things!) and if you can also please pass this along to your friends.

If I can help you out with anything or the production can help you with anything, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Here is the link for the film:

Hey Lisa, I'm a new blogger to Patch as well and am interested in healthy eating as well. I was thinking that it would be cool if you could add to your posts items from local restaurants that are better choices...maybe items that fall in line with your topic for the week. Just thinkin'...keep up the good work!
