Altadenablog to Partner With New Pasadena Weekly Paper

Tim Rutt, the owner of the Altadenablog website, will be partnering with the Pasadena Sun, the Los Angeles Times' new weekly paper that debuts on Friday.

Tim Rutt, the owner of local news site Altadenablog, announced Thursday that he will be partnering with the Pasadena Sun, a new weekly paper owned by the Los Angeles Times.

Rutt, who founded the Altadenablog website in 2007, will also write a weekly column called the Altadena Junction for the paper.

The Pasadena Sun debuts on Friday and will be available weekly in news racks in Pasadena and to subscribers of the Los Angeles Times.

The paper will not be distributed in Altadena, according to an announcement of the new partnership on the Pasadena Sun website.

On his website, Rutt says the following about the new partnership:

"What this means for us is two things: One, as a media partner, Altadenablog has increased resources to share events that may not occur in Altadena but affect us anyway, such as decisions affecting the Pasadena Unified School District and Hahamongna Watershed, as well as some prep sports.

"We will be able to run excerpts from the Sun on our website, linking to the full story in the Sun (similar to the arrangement Hometown Pasadena has with us now). They will get to do the same, linking to Altadenablog stories as events warrant."

Rutt will continue to be the full owner of the Altadenablog.

The Sun's goal is to reach 17,500 readers, according to its website.
