Poets and Fun(d)-raisers gather at Altadena Ale House Tuesday!

Hoist a jar at Altadena Ale House Tuesday evening (April 24th) in support of our area's first major Book Fair, LitFest Pasadena — happening May 12 in Central Park.

Come one, come all April 24th —to enjoy a convivial evening while raising a little money for a banner advertising LitFest, which will take place May 12 at Pasadena's Central Park. LitFest offers a full day of free programming for adults and youth, with two stages freaturing literary lights, both local and from further afield.

Altadena Ale House, 2329 Fair Oakks Avenue, is the place to be Tuesday evening from 6 pm. A suggested donation of $5 gets you a raffle ticket to win any number of great books, plus short poetry readings by Altadena's Poet Laureate Linda Dove, Pasadena Star News editor Larry Wilson, and Brendon Constantine.

This is the second event in support of LitFest in Altadena; the first took place at Mountain View Mausoleum and showcased amazing student talent from local schools. Altadena Heritage supports such fine cultural exchanges with our neighbor to the south, and in fact LitFest will feature Altadena writers Michelle Hueven, Jervey Tervalon, and Michele Zack. (Larry Wilson used to live here!)
