Festival of Women Coming in March

Four award-wining authors will be the guests at the eighth annual Pasadena Festival of Women, scheduled for March 8.

Authors Tupelo Hassman, Christina Schwarz, Janice Steinberg and Helene Wecker, whose works  span fiction, non-fiction and plays, will discuss their creations with guests in an intimate setting, answer questions and autograph their works.

Jan Sanders, director of the Pasadena Public Library system will serve as the opening speaker.

Tickets are $95 per guest and include lunch. Patron-reserved tables of 10 are $1,500.

Also offered is a new feature at the event called "Be a Better Reader: Creative Exercises for the Art of Reading," where guests will learn journaling techniques, practice free reading strategies and talk with fellow readers.

Tickets for the seminar are $45. The seminar will immediately follow the main event.

Proceeds for the event will benefit the Pasadena Senior Center and Pasadena City College's Writer-in-Residence program.
