Hearing Things? Relax, Those Are SCE Helicopters

A helicopter hovering in our hills usually indicates a rescue or fire. But, according to Paul Klein of Southern California Edison, for the next six weeks, most of that sky traffic can be attributed to the Tehatchapi Renewable Transmission Project, which, when completed, will deliver electricity from new wind farms in the Tehachapi area and other sources to SCE customers and the California transmission grid.

According to Klein, the helicopters are delivering wire and other supplies to existing towers. No new towers will be built in the Altadena/La Cañada Flintridge area.
