Missing Cat Rescue Money Replaced by Donors

About $1200 in donations for local cat rescue and adoption non-profit The Cat Posse was allegedly stolen in an Altadena residential burglary.

Late last month, a volunteer for local cat rescue The Cat Posse reached out to Patch to ask for the community’s help to replace funds raised for the nonprofit that were stolen during an alleged residential burglary.

Earlier this month, volunteer Renee Walker was happy to report that donations for The Cat Posse, which serves Altadena and Pasadena, were right around the $1,200 mark, thanks to people spreading the word about the stolen funds.

Walker, who has helped at The Cat Posse since they began in 2008, shared with Patch that $1,200 that was raised for The Cat Posse at a yard sale at her Altadena home on Feb. 9 was taken from her home along with other items.

The raised money, which has now been replaced by the community, was to be used for food, litter, medications and other needs for more than 200 cats in The Cat Posse’s care.

Those wishing to donate to The Cat Posse can do so through their website here, which offers various ways to help.
