Altadena Events Included in SGV Poetry Festival

The month-long April festival coincides with National Poetry Month.

The San Gabriel Valley Poetry Festival kicks off Saturday in Pasadena, Altadena Library’s principal librarian Pauline Dutton shared in a Patch blog.

Coinciding with National Poetry Month, the festival includes a variety of events in the SGV, including four in Altadena:

Saturday, April 20, 4 to 6 p.m. - Essence and Essentials for Writing Poetry: Go where it takes you but take only what you need led by Mary Torregrossa in the meeting room of the Altadena Library on 600 E. Mariposa St.

Sunday, April 21, 10 a.m. to Noon - EARTH DAY POETRY HIKE host Khadija Anderson, meets  lower parking lot Millard Canyon, Altadena, info: haikujunky@gmail.com or call (206) 551-2567.

Tuesday, April 23, 6 to 8 p.m. - WRITING UNDER THE "INFLUENCE" (of music) Poetry & Prose workshop led by Mira Mataric in the meeting room of the Altadena Library on 600 E. Mariposa St.
