The above hunting stand was found nearby the Millard Canyon campground by the host Lonnie Fehr.

The stand is used by hunters to lie in wait for animals, such as deer, and to have a place to fire from. 

Other makeshift hunting set-ups have been discovered in the local foothills in recent weeks as well - the Altadenablog has a few photos of ones that were discovered earlier this month.

Over the years some foothill residents have also who has hunted near their properties.

Editor's note: This article originally incorrectly stated that hunting is illegal in the Angeles National Forest.  Per the Fish and Game Department, though there are some restrictions on hunting in the area, it is not illegal.
