Two Altadena Organizations to Receive Grants Totaling $43,500
The Altadena Library and Altadena Christian Children's Center will be honored with a total of $43,500 in grants.
The and the will be honored Tuesday by the Pasadena Community Foundation and will receive a total of $43,500 in grant money for community programs from the group.
The grants are part of the foundation's Local Heroes campaign, which annually gives out money to organizations which are making a difference in the Pasadena and Altadena communities, according to Christle Balvin, a spokeswoman for the foundation.
This year the organization will make $687,000 in grants, which can be used for organizations for any programs that benefit the community.

The library will receive $23,500, while the Christian Center will get $20,000, according to Balvin.
The Altadena Library, an independent library system, is supported by its own tax district in Altadena. It offers a variety of community events and offers to community members in need.

The Christian Center offers a variety of child care services and partners with Early Head Start to provide services to infants and toddlers.
The grants will be officially awarded on Tuesday at 7:00 a.m. at the University Club of Pasadena at 175 N. Oakland Ave.
