Workshop Explores the Healing Properties of Herbs
Local produce exchange group RIPE will host "Healing Herbs, Healing Foods, and Ritual" workshop this Sunday, led by noted herbalist Charles Garcia.
RIPE Altadena welcomes noted herbalist from the Bay Area, Charles "Doc" Garcia. He is a third-generation curandero and street medic who has served the poor, homeless, and AIDS populations in his hometown for years.
According to RIPE, “If you can make a fire, get a pot of water simmering, find herbs in your back yard, your neighbor’s lawn, a city park…Doc Garcia believes you can aid the sick.”
The workshop is this Sunday, October 21, from 3-5 pm, at 1280 E. Washington Blvd, Pasadena. Cost is $20. RSVP to Marcia@homebodybotanicals.com.
