Town Council Member Talks New Business Parking, Feedback

Diane Marcussen of the Altadena Town Council shared more in an online forum about parking and feedback related to the proposed Indian restaurant and banquet hall that has started construction. How do you feel about the businesses opening in Altadena?


After a Patch reader posted the Patch article link in a Yahoo group for the President Streets, Altadena Town Council member Diane Marcussen shared the following in the online forum to elaborate on the proposed restaurant and banquet facility and encourage public response:

This project is going to Altadena Town Council Land Use committee for Public Hearing on February 5th.  The CUP covers a new request to serve alcohol in the entire building which includes a restaurant and a 180 person occupancy banquet hall.  It also asks for the inclusion of live music for both the restaurant and the banquet hall.  The previous CUP included a condition that did not allow live music.  Finally, it asks for a parking permit to have shared use parking between the medical building and the restaurant/banquet hall because there is not sufficient parking for the new building if they are not able to use the medical building parking after hours. 

I would encourage you all to communicate with the county or me between now and February 5th.  You can provide your positive or negative input or to attend the Land Use meeting at the Community Center on 2/5 at 7 p.m. to make your feelings about the project known.  If you would like the email address of the planner on this project, please let me know.  You each have a voice on this if you want to be heard.

Please provide an email. Many people cannot get out of work to attend in person, but can write a letter and send it to you. But, we need an email address, preferably yours and the appropriate county email too. Thanks.

Sharing of parking between the banquet hall and the medical building during evening and weekend hours when the medical building would presumably not be in use is a sensible use of parking spots.
