Pasadena Patch is Coming Soon!

Pasadena Patch will be your go-to spot for arts, culture, food and community conversation.

Many of our South Pasadena, Altadena, Arcadia, Sierra Madre and San Marino readers live, work and play in Pasadena, and so they often ask us: Why isn't there a Pasadena Patch?

Good question! While the city is bigger than most Patch locations, we think the Pasadena community needs its own news, business and information platform. We will launch a Pasadena Patch on Sept. 27, adding to our nationwide network of 870 towns.

Pasadena already has established media outlets, including the Pasadena Star-News, the Pasadena Weekly and the L.A. Times' new venture, the Pasadena Sun. We know there is a lot of news coverage coming from those sources already.

That's why we want to have a unique focus that is a little different from those sources: We want to be your place for Pasadena arts, culture and food as well as community events that are sometimes overlooked within the city. We'll be starting by focusing on those topics, while providing links to other media coverage of crime, city hall and other important news topics in the city.

A team of editors will run the site, and you will see contributions from our reporters in South Pasadena, Altadena, Arcadia, Montrose and Monrovia. The whole team can be reached at pasadena-ca@patch.com. News tips or questions could also be sent directly to Assistant Regional Editors Dan Abendschein (dan.abendschein@patch.com) and Redmond Carolipio (redmond.carolipio@patch.com).

Pasadena Patch will be a place where you can connect with your neighbors to discuss the things that are most important to you and share them with others by posting your own events, announcements, photos and videos. We want the site to be a place for people to keep track of what's going on in the Crown City.

Starting Sept. 27, you can read us at www.pasadena-ca.patch.com. There is already another Pasadena Patch in Pasadena, Maryland, so note our Pasadena Patch includes the state in its address.

If you have a Pasadena business, you can add it to our free business directory, and if you claim your listing, you'll find free tools to help you promote your business.

We hope you'll get involved! Our users make Patch lively, interactive information hubs. You can contribute by commenting, submitting events and announcements, blogging or just letting us know what's happening.

We're currently signing up bloggers. If you have a passion about something — your school, your pets, your church, anything — fill out the form with this article. You can also use this form to sign up for our Pasadena Patch newsletter.

To advertise, contact our sales team led by David Peck at davidp@patch.com

We also have a Pasadena Patch Facebook page, where you can enjoy the social media conversations, and a Pasadena Patch Twitter page for following news as it develops.

Hi, Dan - I notice you omit to mention to PASADENA NOW (www.pasadenanow.com) -- the only other 100% online publication and in many editorial categories, the most-read online community news resource for Pasadena on the internet. With 80,000+ readers, 3100+ Twitter followers and a subscription list of 19,000+, Pasadena Now was, in my opinion, a major and telling omission.
Laura Monteros September 26, 2012 at 05:57 pm
Agreed, James.
Dan Abendschein (Editor) September 26, 2012 at 06:09 pm
James, apologize for the omission, no offense intended.
Zahra Nealy September 27, 2012 at 01:27 pm
Yay! Excited to see Patch expanding! Congrats to you all.

Frank Walsh, Walsh Exterminating in Monrovia (626-359-4712) is EXCELLENT! My gardener got a dozenRead More bites from ground wasps and Frank took care of the nest and they've never returned. We've used him for years for fleas, spiders, wasps, and rats. He's experienced, thorough, neat and best of all, checks the rat traps and disposes of them. Good luck, Rhonda Raulston
