What Products and Services Are Needed in Altadena?

Tell us what type of business you'd like to see open in Altadena.

Hi Patchers!

Like many of you, I drive from the east to west side of town and up/down central Altadena on a regular basis. On many of those drives, I've often thought, "Hmm...if we only had a "this/that" store in town".  Having such a business in town would cut out the extra drive down or over the hill to find what I'm looking for.

Many times I'll search the internet, the Chamber's website or another directory to see if the product/service I'm looking for is available locally before I begin the trek into the next town. Much to my suprise (maybe it shouldn't be a suprise), I can find what I'm looking for locally! I may not always have many choices, but I can find a lot of what I need here.

However, there is the belief by many residents that we need more retail, more services, more choices. For the most part, I'm in this camp. For me, I REALLY enjoy a frozen yogurt once in a while (think Cherry on Top near PCC, Penguins in La Canada). Sometimes ice cream or gelato (I do go to Bulgarini) just won't do the trick when I'm in the mood for frozen yogurt.

Maybe there's something you'd like to see in Altadena that doesn't yet exist (think bowling alley or art house theater). Or, maybe we already have something in town and you'd like to see another similar business (i.e. a specialty grocery store, another Chinese restaurant).  Our town may not always have the most attractive retail locations to attract new businesses but from time to time, a vacancy comes about and you say to yourself, "We NEED to get a "blankety blank" business into that open space!"

Let me know what you'd like to see in town. It can be a product, service, restaurant, grocery etc. I will ask that you not put down or pan an existing business when offering your answer.  Rather, think of something that would enhance our quality of life &/or make life more convenient (cut down on long drives) or simply to have another choice. Even if your answer is for something that may not be viable, have some fun with your answers.

Again, for me, I'd like to see a frozen yogurt place up here. I see there's a fairly new place on E.Washington west of Allen......
