Sculpting the Head: Self-portrait Workshop
This is a six hour intensive workshop that with take you through the process of sculpting a self-portrait plaster mold making, and casting and casting your original work in plaster. You will learn how to create a three dimensional likeness of yourself in 3/4th scale in clay. Instructor Tom Hunsucker will teach you human facial proportions, and modeling techniques to create a naturalistic bust. Space is limited. Registration online at www.makespacearts.com
About the Artist & Teacher Tom Hunscuker
Tom is a classic figure and portrait sculptor working in clay and traditional casting techniques. He currently teaches at Pasadena City College and has been teaching privately and as a guest artist at community centers and studio programs for many years. His work is featured in several prominent public and private art collections all over California. The United Teachers of Los Angeles commissioned him to create a commemorative portrait of its former president Helen Bernstein, which is on display at the union’s headquarters in Los Angeles.
