From Austin TX to the Altadena Community Arts Center

Austin, TX Resident visits Altadena Community Arts Center for February's Black History Month Exhibition.

You might wonder, "Did someone really travel that far to see the "Black History Month Exhibition" currently on exhibit at the Altadena Community Arts Center?" Well, no, not exactly, although it's worth the trip.  Here's what happened.  For the past several days, Austin, TX resident, Judith Taylor, has been here visiting her daughter and grandchilren, who are Altadena residents.  As has been her custom since arriving, she was on her daily walking tour of the area when she came upon the Altadena Community Arts Center on North Lake.  Having read about the "Black History Month Exhibition", she wanted in to see it no matter that the Center had not yet opened (that's how we lovers of art are).  Having her cell phone handy (Who doesn't these days?), she gave a call to Executive Director, Mary Ann Stevenson, and in a flash, Judith had the center to herself alone to enjoy the fantastics works of art on exhibit and the great memories of same to take back with her to Austin, TX.

If you are hoping to have the same experiences as Judith, you'd better hurry since there is just a little time left.  The exhibition closes on Thursday evening, February 28th, with a Closing Reception from 6:00pm - 8:00 pm.  The public is invited.  For information, call 626-797-5798.
