UPDATED: Westbound Lanes Reopen After Fatality Crash Shuts Down Angeles Crest
Officials issued a Sig Alert for both lanes near Cloudburst Summit.
UPDATE, 5:26 p.m.: The westbound lane of Angeles Crest Highway has reopened after a fatality crash forced officers to shut down all lanes during the investigation.
PREVIOUSLY: A motorcyclist died of injuries sustained in a solo crash on Angeles Crest Highway, the California Highway Patrol said.
Medics performed CPR on the rider, only described as a man in his early 20s. The crash happened around 2:40 p.m. near Cloudburst Summit in the Area of the Mt. Waterman Ski Resort, according to scanner reports.
The rider was to be airlifted from the scene of the crash, but was declared dead. Around 3:46 p.m., authorities issued a Sig Alert in both directions for an unknown duration.
