A Sophisticated Spring Soiree School Fundraiser

A way to have a good time and support an Altadena school

Sometimes we mamas just want to go out and have some grown-up fun.  Where can you go that’s close to home that has dining and dancing and all the grown-up fun that goes with it?  Well, you are in luck this weekend!  ,  a public school right here in Altadena, is having their Spring Soiree fundraiser this weekend--and it’s all about adult fun.

This Saturday, March 26th, The Women’s City Club of Pasadena is opening the doors of their historic Blinn House and welcoming the public to enjoy the Spring Soiree in the beauty of their elegant manor.

At 7:00 p.m., the libations begin with wine tasting paired with an assortment of fruits and cheeses.  At 8:00 p.m., partake in catered Heavy Hors d’Oeuvres (such as chicken satay, mini quiches, stuffed mushrooms) while enjoying live music by Arlyn Page, Sonja Alarr, and Kelly Anderson.

There will be a wine, beer, and specialty cocktail bar, and DJ Marko DeSantis will spin great dance tunes so you can dance till your legs ache.  If you still have space in your belly after all the delectable hors d’oeuvres, partake in a sweet offering of dessert, coffee and tea.

During the entire evening, you will have an opportunity to bid on some amazing items during their silent and live auctions, such as an Ipad 2, a basketball signed by James Worthy, soccer ball signed by David Beckham, a night at the Westin Bonaventure, Tom Sawyer camp sessions, tickets to theme parks and museums, spa packages, and much more.  With over 100 auction packages, you are sure to find several “escapes” that appeal to you.

Advance tickets are $40 and can be purchased at the Aveson main office or online through Paypal, or you can purchase tickets at the door for $50.  ALL funds raised go directly to the continuation of making Aveson Charter School the competitive and much needed Altadena educational institution it is currently.  This will be a night of old-fashioned adult fun, so put on your best and step into spring with some dining, drinking, and dancing under the moonlight at Aveson’s Spring Soiree.

For crying out loud! You can't even spell "secede" and you want to run your own state?

Lisa I am actually holding back, because my comment was up front for two days, and I don't want toRead More look like a hog. As for user friendly....well, maybe. But as with any major revamp, after the foreign feel to navigating, usually the new way feels comfortable eventually. I am not sure either way yet.

And no one is commenting on any stories anymore. This is because the new format is not userRead More friendly.
