Yoga at a Beautiful Altadena Location

Escape isn't always just about indulgences.

One of the most indulgent holidays is now a, hopefully, fond memory, but our bodies may be just getting to know the chocolates, desserts, and glasses of wine associated with it.

Now, exercise may not be at the top of the list when a mom thinks about escaping, but experts all agree that exercise can boost endorphins and energy, reduce stress, and leave one feeling renewed and refreshed.  And let’s not forget, it’s the best way to work off those extra Valentine's Day calories.

Altadena has a good assortment of exercise options, but we know of a special alternative to the typical gym….yoga at the Zane Grey Estate.

Two days a week, the owners of the 1926 Zane Grey Estate open their beautiful doors to the public and in their East Wing with lots of windows, hardwood floors, and an amazing open rafter ceiling, yoga professionals teach a willing group how to “…awaken every muscle, organ, and cell in [their bodies].”

Sunday mornings, for a suggested $10 donation, Alicia from Bikran Clarement teaches a class that focuses on posturing and balance.  Tuesday evenings, for a suggested $15 donation, Marisol Martinez from Altadena Junction gets guests moving with a mix of Ashtanga and Vinyasa styles.

According to Martinez, “an invigorating class that in the end, will allow you to unwind”.  And really, that’s what escape is all about.
