Crime Blotter: Burglary Round-up

As reported last week, there has been a recent uptick in burglaries in Altadena

Blotter information provided by Lt. Joe Dempsey of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Altadena Station

Sunday, August 21

Between 10:00 PM and 12:00 PM, Monday – A vehicle burglary occurred in the 300-blk of Vinehill Dr.  Suspect(s) entered the vehicle by shattering the rear passenger window.  Loss:  black Targos backpack containing personal documents. 

 Monday, August 22

Between 07:20 AM and 12:00 PM – A residential burglary occurred in the 2300-blk of of Sinaloa Av.  Suspect(s) entered the residence by prying the rear door.  Loss:  black Sony PS#, silver coin collection, gold necklace w/3 diamond pendant.

Between 08:00 AM and 12:30 PM – A residential burglary occurred in the 1700-blk of Roosevelt Av.  Suspect(s) entered the residence by removing the window screen.  Loss:  silver HP laptop.

Between 10:45 AM and 3:15 PM – A residential burglary occurred in the 1400-blk of Coolidge Av.  Suspect(s) entered the residence by prying the rear door and shattering the window.  Loss:  none.

Between 11:20 AM and 11:40 AM – A residential burglary occurred in the 2000-blk of E. Crary St.  Suspect(s) entered the residence via the unlocked rear door.  Loss: silver Apple MacBook Pro 15” laptop. 

Between 5:30 PM and 10:45 AM, Tuesday – A vehicle burglary occurred in the 2500-blk of Boulder Rd.  Suspects(s) entered the vehicle by shattering the driver’s side window.  Loss:  black/gray Garmin GPS.

Tuesday, August 23

Between 7:00 AM and 3:30 AM, Wednesday – A residential burglary occurred in the 2600-blk of N. Fair Oaks Av.  Suspect(s) entered the residence via unknown method.  Loss:  black Magnavox 50” tv, silver Apple laptop, black HP laptop. 

Wednesday, August 24

Between 7:00 AM and 6:40 PM – A residential burglary occurred in the 2700-blk of Glen Av.  Suspect(s) entered the residence via the unlocked rear door and damaged the window screen.  Loss:  black Nike nylon backpack.

Between 12:30 PM and 7:30 PM – A residential burglary occurred in the 70-blk of W. Terrace Av. St.  Suspect(s) entered the residence via the unlocked garage.  Loss:  black Xbox 360, Xbox games, gray/black Dell desktop. 

3:40 PM – A residential burglary occurred in the 2700-blk of N. Marengo Av.  Suspect described as male, Hispanic, 5’09, 165 lbs, black shoulder length hair, full beard, wearing a white t-shirt and light blue jeans w/a dark sweater wrapped around the waist.  Suspect was observed jumping over the fence after the victim noticed the suspect on the lawn.  Loss:  pink suitcase. 

Thursday, August 25

4:30 AM – A residential burglary occurred in the 1700-blk of Sierra Madre Villa Av.  Suspect(s) entered the residence via the unlocked rear sliding door.  Loss:  red vase.

Between 9:30 PM and 3:30 AM, Friday – A petty theft from an unlocked vehicle occurred in the 2100-blk of Parnell Way.  Loss:  personal documents.
