Elderly Man Robbed During Power Out Thursday Night

An Altadena man was pushed down and robbed by several young men on the streets Thursday night.

The man had been out for a walk in the vicinity of the Fair Oaks and Woodbury intersection around 7:30 p.m, according to Allen.

Because Altadena was in almost total darkness last night, officers had been concerned about increased crime, Allen said.  However, the department requested additional deputies, and other than this robbery, there were no other major incidents, he said.

Since Altadena may still be mostly dark Friday night, the department is asking people to stay in their homes for their own safety.  Those who leave should be careful about walking in dark areas alone, he said.
